I. Conditions for learners to drive cars
1 / Being a Vietnamese citizen, a foreigner is permitted to reside or work or study in Viet Nam
2 / Old age (over 18 years old), health and education as prescribed
3 / Learners to upgrade their driver’s license must have a seniority and a safe driving mileage as follows:
– B1 to B2: 1 year or more to drive and 12,000 km to drive safely.
– B2 to C and C to D, D to E; Grades B2, C, D, E should be classed as F: 3 years of driving and 50,000 km of safe driving.
– B2 to D, C to E: 5 years of driving and 100,000 km of safe driving.
II. Class of driving
1 / Class B1: For non-professional drivers (not driving license), drivers of passenger vehicles of up to 9 seats, trucks with a designed tonnage of under 3.5 tons.
– Expiry date of GPLX: 10 years from the date of issuance, expiry date must be applied for.
2 / B2: Used for professional drivers who control all kinds of passenger vehicles up to 9 seats, trucks with designed tonnage under 3.5 tons.
– The duration of use of GPLX: 10 years from the date of issuance, expiry date must be applied for.
3 / Grade C: For professional drivers who handle trucks of 3.5 ton or more, the vehicles specified in the B2 driving license. School attendants must be of full 21 years of age or older.
– Expiry date of GPLX: 05 years from the date of issuance, expiry date must be applied for.
III. Profile of learner driver
1 / First-time learner’s profile:
a / An application for study or examination of driving licenses
a / A photocopy of the identity card or valid passport
c / The health certificate granted by a competent medical establishment (photos must be affixed and sealed)
d / Photo 3 × 4: Includes 10 photos of ID, no hat or glasses
2 / Reach driver’s profile class:
Apart from the papers prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article, the following papers are also required:
a / The certification by the agency or organization at the workplace or the certification of the commune-level local administration on the time and number of km of safe driving according to the prescribed form. Heads of agencies or organizations shall take responsibility for the certification; The individual is responsible for the commitment to the law
b / Copies of junior high school diploma or notarization certificates, for cases of upgrading the driving licenses of class D, E
